lasts become firsts

There have been many lasts occurring these past 2 weeks. Enough to make my insides panic a little. Okay, a lot.

But, today marks the beginning of something new and terrifyingly exciting. It's cycle day one for our frozen embryo transfer!!

I have my baseline ultrasound and blood work today. Based on the outcome (which is outta my control) I start the next series of my meds.

It's just like starting anything new; there's the fear of the unknown, the excitement of finally being so close to your end goal, and the ever nagging what-if's. I'm continuing to be optimistic as possible and ignoring those what-if's, only speaking about the 'when's' of pregnancy and healthy babies.

As I say my official and final goodbye to caffeine, alcohol, and boot camp, I say hello to more hormones, strange theories, and welcome back my fat ass.

As my husband reminded me while I was having a nervous breakdown about my first last, 'there are many firsts to come'. He could not be more right.

How do you find the strength to soldier on when your head and heart are sent into a tailspin?
